Wparcade is relatively new to the premium WP theme business but what separates them from most is that they specialize in creating WordPress arcade themes – premium WP themes geared towards the gaming and arcade niches. They are a small company with a big vision, and their themes are licensed under the GNU general public license.
Wparcade, as mentioned earlier, only designs WP premium arcade themes; this is their main theme functionality. Of course, you wouldn’t be going to their website looking for professional WP themes designed for blog, business, or retail sites. You can go to Elegantthemes or Studiopress instead.
But when it comes to premium arcade WP themes they are, of course, A+. The company also offers Wparcade plugins for you to be able to add up to 20000 games manually or automatically from MochiMedia. All of their arcade WP themes come with a variety of features and functions; what’s common with all of them is the basic theme control panel.
Their themes come with sliding featured games panel, configurable category blocks, category pages, search games query, configurable widgets, sidebars, hide and show settings, menus and sub-menus. Users will also enjoy gaming through one of Wparcade’s theme designed sites as they can easily customize their favorites, upload avatars, and comment on the games all in the members’ block.
Wparcade’s themes support SWF and DCRs, where you can place ads while a game loads, with bookmarks and comments.
Wparcade has a total of seven different premium WP arcade themes you can choose from, all of which has more than excellent theme graphics. The NextWPA V2 arcade theme comes in five stylish colors that you can take your pick: blue, green, pink, red, and its default color. You can place ads of 728×90, 640×80, 336×280, and 300×250 sizes. What’s unique about this particular theme is that it hosts fixed thumbnails, with added sub-menus for categories, and it has a footer for all game fixes. Its front page has been added with three extra blocks with five new styles and fixed ads banners.
The BasicWPA theme is the older version of the NextWPA V2 which has almost the same features as its younger version, but without the most recent updates. The MonstersWPA theme hosts a darker gaming theme, also with five unique designs you can choose from. Your gamers will love the cool, hip and fun environment with this arcade theme. It comes with features like a configurable six category block, single game page, author’s page, ads & stats, and resizable thumbnails.
The MixWPA theme is much like the MonstersWPA theme but on a much lighter tone with not five but nine different freshly designed styles to choose from! The PRedWPA Theme comes in a fusion of purple, red and white colors with great design and graphic features. This theme has all the basic arcade contents with a bit extra: it comes with ads stats, users and analytics; it features a game category ID, it has an enhanced number of posts in its featured games category; it has a Mochiads verification code; and it comes with a home category games block.
The last two Wparcade themes are the BluWPA which comes in a light blue color, and the DarkWPA which comes in plain black.
Theme Pricing– base on August 2010 data
The company does not offer any special deals or combos unlike most other premium WP theme providers like Elegantthemes. But then, such companies have a wide gallery of theme options you can make your choice with, so it would be quite expensive to purchase every single one of their theme designs without them doing some sort of promotion (special deals, combos). With Wparcade – which has only seven themes – each of their theme can be purchased at $29.
What’s disappointing about Wparcade is that they don’t have a good network of theme support for their customers, unlike the great theme support that other companies provide like Woothemes and others. This is not to say that they don’t deal with client problems promptly and accurately. They do have customer testimonials claiming satisfaction with the company’s prompt responses and services. Their theme support only consists of a Contact Us page and a basic Support page. The Contact Us page is in an email format where you can basically shoot them an email if you need to contact them while their Support page is where you can basically create an open ticket for your theme problems and wait for a response.
