Ranking in this category is system generated.
What makes ThemeGrade so different from others theme directory sites is the unique grading of WordPress themes. After a theme has passed the visual test by our editors, they will proceed with the coding test. Unlike the visual test which is very subjective, the coding test is performed independent of editors’ preference.
The general and SEO coding test are performed base on the criteria that we outlined without bias. There are only “yes” or “no” as the outcome and nothing in between.
After our editors complete the general and the SEO coding test base on the criteria, the system that we developed will calculate the total score of each theme. This score gives users an idea of how well a theme fairs in terms of coding.
The winners in this category are chosen base on the average score of all the themes developed by a particular provider and tested by ThemeGrade. Take the top provider, elegantyhemes.com as an example. At the time of writing, they have 13 themes listed in ThemeGrade and the score of each theme is 81, 89, 95, 82, 81, 69, 69, 81, 95, 95, 81, 87, 87 respectively. Take all the score and average them out gives you the overall coding score of 84 of this theme developer.
Note that only developers who have at least 8 themes listed in ThemeGrade are eligible to be tested in this Top 10 Coding category. The followings are the top 10 theme providers who excel in theme coding. Check them out!

Ranking in this category is editor selected.
The winners in this category are not just theme developers, they are also artists. They probably spend more time working on the graphic design than the coding.
We look at a couple of things to decide if the theme designers have what it takes to create themes with top notch graphical design.
1. Header image
The header is the most important factor to determine if a theme has a good graphic design. Not only should the header design catch visitors’ attention, it should also blend well with the rest of the theme design.
2. Color
The theme color should go with the image and not too obtrusive. Bright color works well on most themes but if used incorrectly, it will strain the eyes.
3. Contrast
To make a theme stand out, the use of high-contrast shades for various elements are important. A good example with the right use of contrast is having a light, soothing background with dark lettering.
4. Font and Readability
The most commonly used fonts in web design are Verdana, Arial and Tahoma. The right use of font has to combine with the theme design and right font size to make the whole theme readable.
5. Placing of elements
Is your page well-designed such that the most important things catch the roving eye first? And it is not just size, but also positioning, that determines this.

Some bloggers often get confused between Inserting Image into their post and creating an image gallery. When we say to “insert an image” to a certain Post it obviously meant uploading a certain image in one action. Creating a gallery occurs when you are to upload more than a single file within your post. The gallery is a collection of photos that are visible on your site.
Distinguishing between Category and Tag can sometimes get confusing for some bloggers especially those who are new to the blogging world. It’s actually a dilemma for some who are just starting out. However, with thorough understanding of WordPress Category and WordPress Tag, you will find that it is not so hard at all to learn when to use “Category” and when to use “Tag.”
Personally, I am very much inclined to read more about a blog if I see photos or images about the blog post. I think having an image along with your posts is quite an advantage.
Fortunately, WordPress have come up with a new innovation in uploading and managing media files such as images, videos and audios.
There are three options to choose from in uploading your Images to your WordPress blog:
